A waterslager is a small, yellow bird known for its beautiful singing that many compare to the sound of a gurgling mountain stream. With a larger range of octaves than most birds, the waterslager is often trained to exhibit its singing talents in musical competitions staged by clubs. A member of the Canary family, this breed originates from Belgium but has been introduced to most areas of Europe, the U.S. and Canada, as bird lovers increasingly recognize the waterslager for its singing capabilities and its perks as a pet.
